Being an artist who has worked with cloth, making art, clothing, and home decor, my studio is filled with materials related to what I create. This delightful little sailing ship on wheels includes a weaving spindle and threadle, pin cushion, a thimble and a handmade clay figure to steer the ship. It reminds me of something I imagined in fairy tale books when I was growing up. 16"H x 17"L x 4"W NFS
This three-dimensional piece references the words "stitch" and "time" and "nine". A close look at the design reveals a clock, the number "9" and batik fabric with patterns resembling stitching. It was amusing, entertaining and thought-provoking to create pieces for this exhibit which put a grin on the faces of visitors. Indonesian cotton batik fabrics fused on acid-free foam board on a box form. Imagery wrapped on all sides, ready to hang. 24"H x 24"W x 2.5 $630.
30"H x 12.5"W x 4" $520.
